Job Summary
Welcome guests and guide them through wine tastings with storytelling and confidence. Recommend wines and food pairings based on preferences while driving sales through genuine conversation. Manage food orders using Toast POS, prepare espresso, and maintain polished tasting areas and glassware. Introduce guests to the Wine Club, handle member sign-ups, and assist with releases and pick-ups. Restock supplies and work alongside culinary and wine teams to create a seamless experience. Maintain impeccable cleanliness and engage guests to turn first-time visitors into loyal members.
Required Qualifications
- California Food Handler Card or able to obtain upon being hired
- California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification or able to obtain upon being hired
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Availability Wednesday through Sunday
- Reliable transportation to San Carlos, CA
Desired Qualifications
- Previous wine, tasting room, restaurant, or hospitality experience
- A genuine interest in wine, food, and hospitality
- Strong communication skills and the ability to comfortably engage with different types of guests
- A natural ability to recommend and sell without making the experience feel transactional
- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining a polished workspace
- The ability to stay organized and positive during busy service periods
- A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
- A desire to continue learning about wine and food
- Previous wine sales or tasting room experience
- Sommelier certification or formal wine education
- Experience with Toast POS
