Job Summary
Drive a 15-passenger van over designated routes, adhering to traffic rules and time schedules while making punctual departures and arrivals. Operate the vehicle in a clean, safe condition and maintain group order to ensure a 5-star service level. Provide guests with information about the local area, wineries, and wines, conducting tours that explain the wine-making process and history. Answer guest questions, manage diverse group dynamics, and break the ice to set a fun yet educational tone. Continuously check in with the group to ensure comfort and enjoyment, offering recommendations for activities in the region. This part-time role requires a personable, knowledgeable guide with a valid license, fluent English, and a passion for Virginia's wineries.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Wine Certification or classes
- Fluent English speaker
- Personable, outgoing and friendly customer-service-minded personality
- Must be knowledgeable about wine, wine making or the grape growing process
- Know VA wine country
- Be comfortable leading others and talking in front of small groups, often while driving
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be over 25 years old
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to deal with unexpected situations, crisis or emergency situations calmly and professionally
- Must be very comfortable using various technology and learning new technology (Text, email, smart phone, Spotify, reservation system, taking creative pictures with your phone, bluetooth, Youtube, GPS, etc)
