Job Summary
Lead and develop a team of associates by coaching, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews to reinforce customer service standards. Hire and onboard new staff, manage weekly schedules to control labor expenses, and oversee inventory, pricing, and product rotation to ensure the department remains well-stocked and profitable. Deliver exceptional guest service by offering product recommendations, pairing suggestions, and resolving special orders while maintaining strict merchandising and safety compliance. Monitor timekeeping accuracy, ensure work area cleanliness, and support overall store success through assigned duties. This full-time role involves mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and operate equipment such as forklifts and hand jacks.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Knowledge of retail food and beverage operations, including beer, wine, and liquor management
- Experience in restaurants or bartending
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong decision-making skills and operational focus
- Understanding of all safety requirements and company policies
- Proper training and application of training in relevant equipment
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as hand jacks, balers, forklifts, hand trucks, and trash compactors
- Proper lifting techniques and scanning procedures
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination
- Full range of upper body motion
- Ability to occasionally lift stock up to 50 pounds
- Functional sensory abilities to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and operate equipment
- Full-time availability
- Availability for mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
