Job Summary
Guide guests to local craft beers, premium wines, and specialty spirits while taking special orders and resolving concerns. Operate the register to check out purchases accurately, maintain inventory levels, and ensure shelves are stocked and organized. Keep the department clean, safe, and welcoming by maintaining proper lifting techniques and adhering to safety policies. Work alongside team leaders to meet department goals, communicate with vendors, and handle occasional absences with adequate notice. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination
- Full range of upper body motion
- Ability to occasionally lift stock
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities
- Ability to visually monitor the store
- Ability to create attractive displays
- Ability to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
