Job Summary
Check out purchases with accuracy and a smile while acting as a product guide to help guests find wine, spirits, and craft beer pairings. Answer customer questions, resolve concerns, and take special orders to ensure every guest leaves feeling supported. Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized. Operate the register, maintain a clean environment, and collaborate with vendors and leadership to meet department goals. Work alongside associates and leadership to exceed expectations while honoring commitments regarding regular, timely attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination
- Full range of upper body motion
- Ability to occasionally lift stock
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities
- Ability to visually monitor the store
- Ability to create attractive displays
- Ability to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
