Job Summary
Mentor team members, share product knowledge, and guide associates in daily operations and guest interactions. Monitor inventory levels, pricing accuracy, and department standards to ensure smooth operations. Finalize and approve weekly work schedules, deliver feedback and coaching for advancement, and assist with hiring. Answer guest questions, take special orders, and resolve concerns while stocking merchandise and maintaining a clean, organized department. Partner with vendors and department managers to exceed guest expectations. This role supports the Wine & Spirits Department Manager at Festival Foods in Manitowoc, WI, requiring a background as a bartender, team lead, or retail professional.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department
- Understands being in a leadership role and how to motivate a team of individuals
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions in the absence of the Wine and Spirits Department Manager
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a stressful environment
- Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Proper training and knowledge of hand jack
- Proper training and knowledge of baler
- Proper training and knowledge of forklift
- Proper training and knowledge of pallet jack
- Proper training and knowledge of trash compactor
- Proper training and knowledge of proper lifting techniques
- Proper training and knowledge of proper scanning techniques
- Ability to stand in place for long periods of time
- Ability to walk in the store
- Ability to bend, stoop and kneel regularly
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity
- Eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment
- Full range of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Full-time position availability including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
