Job Summary
Remote Sales Director role focused on the wine industry, responsible for owning and driving all sales activities with vineyards, wineries, négociants, and other wine producers; build and execute regional and national sales strategies; cultivate deep relationships with winemakers and production teams; qualify and close new business opportunities; represent the company at wine industry events; collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, and customer success to ensure successful implementation and ongoing client satisfaction; requires a deep passion for wine, and a strong track record in B2B sales within the wine sector; base compensation in the low $100k range with total earnings north of $200k through commissions/equity; preferred location in Northern California Wine Country (Napa region) with a remote work setup.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in or closely adjacent to the wine industry
- Sommelier or other wine certification is a plus
- Deep familiarity with winery operations and wine production process
- Proven track record in B2B sales, account management, and new business development
- Existing relationships within the wine industry advantageous
- Bonus: hands-on winemaking or viticulture/enology training
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment
