Job Summary
DZ Driver/Picker at Miller Waste Systems responsible for safely operating a DZ-equipped vehicle to collect residential waste streams (yard waste, recycling, garbage), delivering materials to depots, maintaining safety and customer service standards, adhering to schedules and regulations (MTO, MOE, municipal by-laws), working collaboratively with staff and residents, ensuring containers are handled properly and returned to their properties, and completing a high-volume route (800+ stops per day) while supporting overall contract performance and participating in other projects as required. The role requires a DZ licence, safety-first approach, understanding of OHSA, scheduling flexibility, and the physical ability to lift 50 pounds; offers permanent year-round work with benefits and pension.
Required Qualifications
- A DZ driver's licence with a safe driving record
- A safety-first attitude with demonstrated safe working habits
- An understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and responsibilities as an employee
- Flexibility with scheduling including early starts, delayed finishes and weekend work
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds repeatedly
