Job Summary
Windows Server Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server environments, including related hardware, virtual systems, and network services. Ensures reliability, security, and performance of server infrastructure; supports enterprise systems and end users. Responsibilities include installing/configuring Windows Server OS, managing Active Directory and Group Policy, monitoring server health, applying patches, troubleshooting server issues, managing VMware virtualization, implementing backup/disaster recovery, maintaining security through access controls and firewalls, configuring file/print servers and DNS/DHCP, maintaining documentation, collaborating with IT teams, supporting cloud services (Azure, Microsoft 365), planning capacity and upgrades, responding to incidents, ensuring policy compliance, and performing after-hours maintenance. Qualifications emphasize college preference, 5+ years’ server administration experience, on-site work schedule, valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel, and proficiency with Windows Server, AD/GP, backup technologies, SolarWinds, Azure Arc/Intune, SAN, and related technologies.
Required Qualifications
- College preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Server Administration experience
- Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday
- Valid driver’s license required
- Access to a personal vehicle for travel to satellite facilities
- Ability to perform routine and emergency maintenance outside of business hours
- Strong knowledge of current Microsoft Windows Server environments
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain-joined systems
- Experience with backup technologies (Commvault, Veeam, Backup Exec)
- Familiarity with SolarWinds administration
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) administration (preferred)
