Job Summary
Windows Platform Server Engineer role within Qube Research & Technologies' Global Infrastructure Team. You will design, build, and support on-premises Windows Server infrastructure, including OS deployment, observability, backups, AD/Entra ID integration, and security hardening. Responsibilities include implementing new technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and security; managing Windows Server environments (2022–2025); maintaining multi-forest Active Directory; configuring monitoring dashboards; automating provisioning with PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform; ensuring data integrity and DR readiness; supporting Citrix DaaS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune; providing 2nd/3rd line support; and developing technical documentation. Required skills emphasize extensive Windows Server design/deployment experience, Active Directory/Group Policy/DNS expertise, advanced PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, cloud experience (Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune), Citrix DaaS/VDI, ESXi, networking, PKI, backup and SIEM tooling, and strong troubleshooting and communication abilities. Occasional after-hours work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience designing, deploying, and managing Windows Server environments
- Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform for provisioning
- Experience with Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Intune
- Experience with Citrix DaaS / VDI environments
- Experience with ESXi virtualization environments
- Strong networking concepts and PKI/digital certificates
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) for monitoring and security
- Experience with DNS design and Active Directory domain topology
- Experience with patch management and Windows Update processes
- Ability to automate server management and deployments
- Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
- Occasional weekend/out-of-hours coverage
