Job Summary
Rewind various kinds of electromechanical equipment by dismantling damaged units, removing original windings, and making new coils. Inspect units for winding damage and electrical malfunctions, then document all relevant data regarding electromagnetic characteristics and operating conditions. Test rewound equipment according to EASA Standards and perform voltage testing on standard windings. Strip stators or apparatus without damaging the core or iron, preparing reusable parts for rewinding while checking for hidden structural damage. Operate machinery and hoists, and exercise judgment on routine duties within company safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in rewinding AC and DC electric motors
- Prior practice in winding fields, armatures, and synchronous rotor poles
- Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division including understanding fractions
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple to moderately complex written and verbal instructions
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
- Ability to operate and perform VPI
- Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making related to routine duties within the company set company standards
- Ability to operate machinery and hoists
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must complete a pre-employed drug screen successfully
