Job Summary
Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment, including basic mechanical installations, operations, upgrades, and component assembly. Dismantle machinery, use tools safely, and accurately document all work while strictly adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental procedures. Work directly under supervision for electrical tasks inside cabinets or controllers. This full-time role requires climbing 300+ ft towers multiple times daily, handling up to 50 lbs, and traveling up to 25%. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and complete required safety and technical training upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Successful completion of a climb preview prior to hire
- Ability to climb a 300+ ft. wind tower multiple times per day
- Ability to walk across the hub and, in an emergency, rappel off
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Ability and willingness to repeatedly handle up to 50 lbs
- Due to fall protection design parameters, the combined weight of the employee, required PPE, and gear must not exceed 300 lbs
- Able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Willing to travel up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical mechanical field, wind energy discipline, or equivalent technical experience
- Mechanical or electrical background
- Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematics
