Job Summary
Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment, including basic mechanical installations, operations, upgrades, and dismantling of machinery components. Accurately document all work performed while following Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures and using tools safely. Demonstrate knowledge of tools and assist with customer support needs as assigned. This full-time role requires climbing 300+ ft towers multiple times daily, working at height, and traveling up to 25%. You must be legally authorized to work in the US and pass background checks, drug screening, and a climb preview.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Successful completion of a climb preview prior to hire
- Ability to climb a 300+ ft. wind tower multiple times per day and work comfortably at height
- Ability to walk across the hub and, in an emergency, rappel off
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Ability and willingness to repeatedly handle up to 50 lbs
- Due to fall protection design parameters, the combined weight of the employee, required PPE, and gear must not exceed 300 lbs (PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs)
- Able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Willing to travel up to 25%
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a technical mechanical field, wind energy discipline, or equivalent technical experience
- Mechanical or electrical background
- Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams and wiring schematics
