Job Summary
Wind Technician Associate - Senior role focusing on supporting the wind team and facility management to maximize turbine performance and reliability. Responsibilities include coordinating and performing duties related to OEM and contractor oversight, equipment inspections, monitoring and repairs of turbines and balance of plant equipment; start-up and shutdown of turbines, generators, exciters, transformers and switchyard; troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems; conducting safety briefings, JSAs/JHAs/SDSs, and collaborating with Engineering and Monitoring & Diagnostics on issues and root-cause analysis. Requires operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, inventory tasks, and proficiency with control systems and data tools; climb training and up-tower work to perform inspections and maintenance; ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and use MS Office applications; strong emphasis on safety, environmental health, and company guidelines. Education path includes a High School Diploma or GED with Associate-level technology preferred; 0-1 year wind-industry experience and climbing ability are expected assets. Compensation ranges from $30/hour to $50/hour ($62,400 to $104,000 per year), with extensive benefits. Location listed as Seymour, TX, USA with on-site (in-person) work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required
- Associate's degree in wind, electrical, mechanical or an associated technology preferred
- 0-1 Years of experience in the wind industry or related field
- Experience with electrical voltages and climbing test
- Driver's license
- SCADA familiarity
- Experience with MS Office, Excel
- Ability to climb 100+ meter wind turbine
- Physical ability to perform tasks in varying conditions
- Safety training and compliance experience
