Job Summary
Mark, position, and secure structural steel members for the Highland Repower Wind Project in Primghar, IA. Set up, flag, and inspect cranes; check truck deliveries against bills of lading; count rebar, dobies, and wire mesh; and tie intersections with wire. Install mechanical splices, bend steel rods, and reinforce concrete with wire mesh. Receive and offload major components; connect blades to hubs; set base and tower sections; and handle taglines. Climb ladders averaging 80m and assist with main crane assembly and teardown. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions to determine rod specifications. Work effectively with diverse backgrounds and perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current driver's license
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Knowledge of equipment and their uses
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to lift, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs
