Wildlife Biologist

Job Summary
Wildlife Biologist will lead biological surveys across project lifecycles, act as technical lead to project teams, and provide guidance on wildlife and vegetation considerations, permits, and regulatory applications. Responsibilities include directing multi-disciplinary field surveys, leading field kickoff meetings, inspecting areas of concern, and communicating findings through reports and client communications. Requires post-secondary degree in Biology or Environmental Science, 10+ years of biology-related experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work with stakeholders and construction personnel. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and compliance across NEPA/state-equivalent and utilities-related projects, with a focus on meticulous data collection, field planning, and mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field of study
- Minimum 10 years professional experience as a biologist, or related role
- Experience conducting environmental surveys
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and highly organized with strong problem-solving skills
- Valid Driver’s License, with ability to maintain insurability under the company’s insurance carrier
