Job Summary
Conduct guided tours including kayaking, Jeep/ATV excursions, and wilderness hikes while delivering narration on local history, wildlife, and cultural heritage. Lead guests through activities adhering to Icy Strait Point's principles of Best, Authentic, and Profitable operations by providing thorough safety briefings, monitoring conditions, and operating or supervising equipment such as kayaks and ATVs. Communicate effectively with diverse visitor groups in English and at least one additional language, offering instruction and encouragement to guests of varying skill levels while responding to changing weather and environmental factors. Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality between tours and attend assigned trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Strong outdoor skills with experience in paddling, off-road vehicle operation, hiking, or similar activities
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required
- Friendly, patient, and safety-focused demeanor
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred bilingual proficiency in English and at least one of the following: Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
- Comfortable working in variable weather and wilderness conditions
