Job Summary
Wide Format Service Technician responsibilities include providing phone and onsite technical support to customers, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, software upgrades, and equipment installations/relocations. The role involves travel (~50%) across the Central and Eastern U.S., home-based work from a remote/home office, and serving as a trusted resource for wide format equipment installation, service, and training. Additional duties include coordinating upcoming installations, ensuring site readiness, maintaining service records, supporting sales teams with technical evaluations, and ongoing training to stay current with products and procedures. The candidate should have strong customer service and communication skills, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting abilities, and proficiency with Windows, networking, and RIP workflows. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
Required Qualifications
- 2-6 years minimum of relevant field service experience
- Experience servicing and repairing wide format equipment
- Experience with Canon wide format print equipment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Onyx software and production RIP workflows preferred
- Strong computer and networking knowledge
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and related applications
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time, primarily throughout the Central and Eastern United States
