Job Summary
Provide nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and direct client services to WIC participants, developing individual education plans and verifying eligibility for program benefits. Screen applicants, input data into the WIC Web Information System, and make certification decisions based on income, residency, and nutritional needs indicators. Coordinate vendor relationships, plan training activities, and facilitate outreach to ensure maximum program exposure. Mentor paraprofessional staff and serve as a liaison between the health center, local providers, and grocery vendors. Travel in a personal vehicle to various locations and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or other nutrition-related field
- Current registration as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Verification of eligibility to test for registration with CDR
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Able to work at various health center locations and outreach sites
