Job Summary
WIC Community Nutrition Educator Float I is responsible for enrolling individuals in the WIC program, providing follow-up and nutrition education, promoting breastfeeding, and referring clients to community resources. Travel to multiple locations is required. Responsibilities include conducting health appraisals and nutritional assessment, determining nutrition counseling and lactation management needs, documenting eligibility determinations in AIM software, issuing and completing required documentation, providing education and referrals, handling routine office tasks, managing client complaints, and supporting program coordination with the Regional Coordinator. Nonessential but relevant experience includes a four-year college degree in Nutrition or Dietetic Technician registration, fluency in Spanish, and advocacy experience. All employees must comply with organizational standards and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Certification to perform CPR and AED per American Heart Association and Red Cross guidelines
- Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- High school diploma or GED
- Documented excellence in customer service with ability to interact with and instruct clients from beginner to advanced levels
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and relevant program-related applications
- Competency in working with people of various cultures
- Evidence of valid Arizona driver’s license and current auto insurance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Prioritization and multi-task skills
- Travel to multiple locations required
