Job Summary
Underwrite mortgage loan transactions by reviewing complex financial statements, credit worthiness, and supporting documents against agency and investor guidelines. Execute loan decisions including adverse outcomes while performing due diligence on borrowers and properties to detect fraudulent activity. Run various AUS programs, clear conditions, and assist post-closing with additional documentation or requests. Prioritize workflow to meet established turn times and SLAs while adhering to all quality control and compliance regulations. Maintain strong communication with internal and external partners to foster cohesive working relationships and advocate for training initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting experience
- Proficient with AUS and appraisal reviews
- Encompass knowledge and agency guidelines expertise
- Demonstrates consistency, reliability, and a strong commitment to responsibilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to adapt effectively in a fast‐paced environment and respond to changing priorities
- Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines
- Customer focused mindset with a high standard of service
- Proficient in computer applications and general technology use
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build, maintain, and foster positive relationships with external contacts
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal sales partners and Mortgage Brokers
- Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
- Must have a modern smartphone capable of supporting company authentication and communication applications
- Must maintain a work environment that supports the effective performance of their job duties, including a reliable high speed internet connection with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload
