Job Summary

Establish and manage sound fiscal practices to support the educational process, overseeing district financial accounts including cash, budgetary, debt service, revenue, and grant management. Review, develop, and implement policies and procedures with the superintendent and board of education while providing financial oversight and analysis to district support services. Create and execute a coherent plan with limited, achievable goals, maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Communicate effectively with internal staff, stakeholders, parents, and the Board regarding financial reports, forecasts, and challenges. Promote the use of effective technologies to support teaching and learning and ensure curriculum programs are fully funded.

  • demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize fiscal resources to align expenditures with District goals and available funding
  • demonstrate ability to effectively manage district financial accounts including cash, budgetary, debt service, revenue and grant management
  • demonstrate ability to work with the district superintendent and board of education with input from other stakeholders to review, develop, align and implement policies and procedures
  • demonstrate ability to create and execute a coherent plan with a limited, achievable number of goals and objectives
  • demonstrate ability to provide financial oversight and analysis of fiscal implementation
  • demonstrate ability to develop and monitor risk management practices to protect capital assets
  • demonstrate ability to ensure that effective communication systems are developed, implemented, and maintained
  • demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and openly while demonstrating a willingness to collaborate with internal staff, stakeholders, parents and the Board
  • demonstrate ability to keep the public and staff informed about financial reports, five-year forecasts/trends, policies, progress, and financial challenges in the District's schools
  • demonstrate ability to assist in reviewing, developing, and recommending policies and governance procedures for the District that maintain a focus on ensuring the success of all students
  • demonstrate ability to maintain compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules/regulations, and district policies/procedures
  • demonstrate ability to model and expect fairness, honesty and consistency in the performance of duties
  • demonstrate ability to provide financial leadership to ensure that the District curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs are funded to provide full access and opportunity to all students consistent with available resources and legal mandates
  • demonstrate ability to promote the use of effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning
