Job Summary
Operate and CIP the Whey HTST, Separators, silos, and lines, including making connections and cleaning foam equipment prior to daily start-up. Monitor and troubleshoot CIP systems, check chemical titrations, and maintain the sanitizer bath while documenting all associated logs and inspection forms. Assist Maintenance with equipment issues, pull lab samples, and perform FT-1 analyses. Operate and CIP the Whey UF60 UF, RO, and Polisher when scheduled, drive a forklift, and work at heights or in confined spaces. Complete the Whey Plant Master Sanitation Task list, change gaskets, and clean drains. Work any overtime required for audits, down days, or CIP completion.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to Operate the end of run on the Whey HTST
- Process the Cooker Water
- Start up the Whey HTST process until the Whey Operator has completed CIP on the Whey UF60 system
- CIP the Whey HTST, Separators, all silos and Lines
- Make CIP connections for all equipment, which includes the Whey HTST, Separators, Silos, Tanks, and Lines
- Clean and foam the outside of all equipment (listed above) that has gone through the CIP process prior to daily start-up
- Connect all available equipment for production
- Must be able to team with the Whey Operator and give breaks and lunches to each other
- Monitor and troubleshoot CIP equipment, chemical checks and CIP system checks
- Assist Maintenance to help support and find/correct issues
- Able to check chemical titrations on all wash and sanitizer steps on all the equipment that has gone through the CIP process
- Responsible for the completion of all associated documentation while on Production Run, CIP and Start up
- Maintain the sanitizer bath in the Whey plant, drain, clean and fill the bath, titrate and document on SA-68 Titration Report – Whey Production
- Fill out Pre-Operational Inspection forms and document after CIP is completed
- Visually check equipment after CIP to ensure the equipment is clean and sanitized for production start-up
- Maintain the Whey A&B CIP System, by draining and cleaning the CIP tank which includes draining and cleaning the Fresh Water Tank twice a week
- Inspecting the CIP filter strainers daily and document and fill out the Whey A&B CIP Pre-Op Inspection
- Visually inspect the Whey A&B CIP Systems tanks daily
- Clean and Organize the Whey A&B CIP room and Whey UF60 Dosing System areas
- Clean and organize outside of the Whey plant
- Able to lift and move 55-gallon containers of chemicals
- Inventory and stock chemicals for the Whey UF60 dosing system and Whey CIP Room
- Change over chemicals including the San-I-King tote
- Able to drain, move and clean the chemical spill containments
- Must be able to Operate and CIP the Whey UF60 UF, RO, and Polisher when deemed necessary, upon scheduling issues
- Able to pull all samples for lab analysis
- And run the FT-1 in the Lab
- Able to document all information pertaining to the Whey Process, including Whey UF60 UF, RO, Polisher Logs, Whey HTST, Glass and hard plastics, pH checks, vessel checks, Pre-Ops, SAP logs, Polished water sanitizer Log, etc
- Must be able to work at heights to clean tops of equipment, pipes, walks, tanks, silos, etc
- Must be able to go into confined spaces after proper training (tanks, silos, etc)
- Knowledge of and able to work safely with all plant cleaning chemicals and written procedures
- Must be able to complete and perform ALL duties on the Whey Plant Master Sanitation Task list, (MSS) and ensure all daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly Safety and Sanitation Inspections are completed, and initialed daily
- This includes cleaning and foaming top/underneath/sides of the Whey HTST, all tanks, silos, all lines, frames, drip pan, silo alcoves, CIP Room, floors and the sanitizer baths
- Perform various plant sanitation duties as needed
- Maintain portable foamers in the Whey Plant
- Clean all drains in the Whey plant after CIP is completed
- Change and inspect Gaskets, Spray Balls, Valves, and Check Valves
- Change any leaking gaskets on all equipment and lines
- Must be able to assist other employees from all departments in cleaning when needed throughout the facility
- Drive and operate a Forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift
- Must be able to obtain a forklift license within 15 days to perform forklift duties
- And able to wear safety harness
- Perform SAP functions in the system
- Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Food Quality
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Work any overtime as required including/during Audits, down days, able to disassemble & clean equipment
- Must be able to work any overtime as required to complete the CIP process
