Job Summary
Inspect track conditions, plan daily maintenance and repair activities, and allocate resources to ensure safe, efficient completion of tasks in assigned territory. Enforce compliance with Federal Railroad Administration regulations and company safety procedures while conducting operational tests and documenting inspections. Lead and develop track forces, respond to emergencies and service interruptions, and coordinate after-hours callouts as needed. Work outdoors in all weather conditions with variable hours, including weekends and holidays, while communicating with other departments and applying collective bargaining agreements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One or more years of supervisory experience in railroad engineering operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- General engineering and construction knowledge
- Knowledge of FRA regulatory standards
- Knowledge of curve elevation design theory and string lining curves
- Proficient in writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be willing and able to work any hours at any location on the railroad in OH and PA
- Relocation may be required
