Job Summary
Train and supervise staff in the execution of Mountain Bike, Skateboarding, and BMX programs while overseeing trail and track maintenance for AP and Low Gear initiatives. Assist with area setup and takedown, manage inventory and supply requests, and ensure all documentation is completed accurately. Provide written performance evaluations for direct reports, model the Scout Oath and Law, and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Perform additional duties assigned by leadership and adhere to staff handbook policies. Requires standing, walking, and biking up to 9 hours daily with the ability to lift 50 pounds. Work hours are 45-55, with staff housed in a platform tent at Staff Camp.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Required: Willingness to learn about skateboarding, BMX, and mountain biking programs
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience teaching MTB, BMX and/or Skateboarding
- Preferred: Experience maintaining biking or skateboarding facilities and/or equipment
- High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
- Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
