Job Summary
Operate a vehicle safely to transport passengers to medical facilities or homes within a designated mileage radius, utilizing maps or GPS to navigate efficiently. Inspect the vehicle for maintenance needs, complete daily mechanical checklists, and enter trip sheets while ensuring all permits and documentation remain current. Provide professional customer service to passengers, handle basic issues, and refer complex problems to management while adhering to Federal, State, and Local regulatory standards. This role supports Modivcare's mission to connect underserved individuals with care through non-emergency medical transportation. Full-time and part-time positions are available in Maine counties with Monday-Friday schedules ranging from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver's license for the appropriate vehicle type
- Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents
- In-depth knowledge of navigating the local area to utilize the safest and most efficient routes possible
- Excellent driving skills and the ability to handle various road and weather conditions
- Customer-service oriented with excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and schedules
- Physical fitness and stamina for long hours of driving, if applicable
- Extended driving
- Frequent vehicle entry and exit
- Assisting passengers
- Operating wheelchair lifts, ramps, and securement systems
- Pushing wheelchairs
- Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 350 lbs
