Job Summary

Conduct daily maintenance operations and supervise work crews for both summer and winter camping seasons. Manage camp property, buildings, and equipment with integrity while documenting all work completed and maintaining operating records. Lead teams in executing daily responsibilities, training new staff, and fostering a positive work experience for volunteers. Execute assigned DIN/PM items, operate property consistent with site instructions, and respond to unexpected guest needs with Christ-like hospitality. Maintain a pleasant attitude and represent Young Life professionally within the local community. Work in a remote environment requiring physical adaptability, including standing, walking, and performing tasks over head or in crawl spaces.

Required Qualifications

  • Profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord
  • Subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith
  • Be ready, willing and able to fulfill ministry functions as may be required by the organization
  • Refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life
  • Abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including those related to religious belief or ministry activities
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Any necessary certifications as required by the local municipality
  • Must be capable of spending most of the workday standing or walking
  • Must be adaptable to all work environments, inside and out
  • Must be capable of working on projects over/above head, as well as bending, kneeling, crawling in/around attics, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Capable of digging, shoveling and raking various compounds
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to train and lead teams
  • Physically able to do the work
  • Must be able to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern for guests and staff
  • Must be able to respond to the unexpected needs of a guest in a prompt and professional manner
  • Must be able to work with and minister to volunteer high school and college-age young people who attend camp
