Job Summary
The Bad Debt Collector is responsible for managing inbound and outbound customer calls to negotiate payment arrangements on past due medical debts while ensuring compliance with collection guidelines and laws. Key responsibilities include persuading patients to pay, updating customer records with call details, and maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in handling medical records in accordance with HIPAA. Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, relevant experience in collections, and effective communication and negotiation skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Previous experience in medical collections
- Previous experience in a call center environment

- Ability to use professional language and grammar
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills in Word and Excel
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Telephone communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to compute math calculations
