Wet Utilities Design Engineer

Job Summary
Design wet utility systems including potable water, fire-fighting, and stormwater networks for infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, hydraulic models, and technical reports while ensuring compliance with local authority standards. Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and calculations for pipe sizing and system capacities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs and resolve site-specific issues. Provide technical support during construction by reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs. Follow QA/QC procedures and document control protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment, with a focus on wet utilities/infrastructure design
- Proven experience with UAE/GCC projects
- Direct Abu Dhabi authority experience
- Proficiency in: Hydraulic modeling: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET, WaterGEMS
- Proficiency in: CAD/BIM: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard
- Proficiency in: Office tools: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint for calculations and reporting
Desired Qualifications
- Membership or progress toward membership in a professional institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, ASCEICE, CIWEM, ASCE)
- Master's degree in Water Resources, Hydraulics, or Environmental Engineering
- International standards such as AWWA, BS/EN, ISOAWWA, BS/EN, ISO for water and wastewater systems
- Design of both gravity and pressurized systems
- Prior experience in UAE or GCC market/projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- A collegiate, team-player attitude
- Team player with good communication skills
- Good design coordination skills with other disciplines
