Job Summary
Prepare poured concrete for curing by leveling with bull floats, boards, or screeds, and finishing with brooms, rakes, trowel machines, or other tools as needed. Collect and prepare materials, secure or cover finished products, clean overflow from forms, and perform general housekeeping and waste disposal throughout the shift. Assist during the concrete pour process and operate equipment such as hoists, overhead cranes, and power tools. Adhere to Metromont and OSHA safety rules while working in a sheltered or outdoor environment with unscheduled overtime possible.
Required Qualifications
- Able to read a tape measure
- Able to use standard construction tools
- Able to read, or be trained to read, blueprints
- Able to work on a team
- Highly dependable with strong work ethic
- Able to understand, follow, and convey verbal instructions
- Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes
- Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors
- Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations
- This position requires standing for long periods of time
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Bending
- Repetitive motion with medium force
- An ability to frequently climb up to 4 feet above ground using stairs
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years of previous general construction experience preferred
- Experience with concrete finishing, bull floats, and trowel machines preferred
