Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes. Adhere to therapeutic standards, infection-control policies, and medication protocols to ensure quality and patient safety. Document patient services, communicate irregularities, and maintain confidentiality through Nurse Knowledge Exchange techniques. Establish rapport with patients and families to promote independence by teaching self-care skills and answering questions. Utilize multidisciplinary strategies to resolve patient problems and ensure equipment and supply inventories are maintained. Rotate shifts, standby, or respond to on-call requirements as needed, with local travel between Independence Health campuses expected.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Minimum three (3) years of acute care experience
- Strong leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Independent and critical thinking skills
- Sound judgment
- Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
- NIH Stroke Scale – current or within six (6) months of hire/transfer into department
- Regular travel between Independence Health campuses required
