Job Summary
Merchant in Loblaw's Super Market Division responsible for end-to-end promotional programs, product selection and forecasting, pricing decisions, vendor engagement, and in-store merchandising strategies. Lead and support assortment optimization, planogram design, and coordination with space planners and supply chain; use data and analytics to build strategic plans that drive financial outcomes and market share. Collaborate with category vendors, operations, loyalty, e-commerce, marketing, and other divisions to achieve category goals, lead vendor meetings and product costing debates, and contribute to private-label product innovation and program development.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- At least one year’s experience as a merchant/buyer, in retail sales, or merchandising
- Analytical approach and experience using data to make decisions
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and confidence working with various software platforms
