Job Summary
Instruct and supervise students in and out of the classroom while developing a learning environment conducive to effective intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Prepare for assigned classes, maintain accurate records as required by law, and enforce school rules and administrative regulations. Employ varied instructional techniques to meet individual student needs, collaborate with faculty on planning goals, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Administer health services to students when necessary and represent the school positively in the community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in field of assignment
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for Elementary Education
- Basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard to navigate computer, e-mail, and websites
- Subject matter in area of assignment
- Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
- Curriculum, instruction and assessment
- Short and long-range planning techniques applicable to area of specialty
- Record-keeping skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities
- Pedagogy in area of certification
- Must demonstrate a desire to see all students learn and succeed
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment screenings
