West Coast Industrial Operations Manager

Job Summary

Plan, estimate, schedule, and control complex industrial operations for shipboard and shop work while managing diverse teams of technicians. Supervise personnel on US Navy ships and in offices, shops, and warehouses, adjusting staffing and training to meet project commitments. Coordinate with QA, Superintendents, and Lead Technicians to generate weekly and monthly reports, Plan of Action and Milestones, and Test and Inspection Plans. Ensure adherence to safety, quality control, security policies, and hazardous material procedures. Manage company resources, track calibrated equipment, and maintain inventory of tools and customer property. Lead project review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and performance, and assist in developing proposals and quotes. Develop work standards for continuous improvement and manage facility permits and inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • Program or Project Manager with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience working in ship repair industry
  • Minimum of 10 years prior experience in the private maritime industry
  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills necessary to create and maintain healthy, thriving, dependable, and compliant work environments
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items and ABS standards
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and translate detailed and complicated customer work items, requirements, specifications, references, drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in paperwork and all Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in U.S. Navy ship design, production, test, operations, maintenance, and modernization
  • Experience in marine electrical systems installations, maintenance, and repair
  • Experience in defense aerospace materials/composites
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
