WES Special Education Paraprofessional Teaching Assistant/Instructional Assistant 2026-2027 School Year

Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher while maintaining records of student progress. Prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, and assist in determining English proficiency for identified students. Monitor and report student behavior and progress, check lab work, and provide emotional support and general guidance. Perform routine clerical duties, operate instructional equipment, and assist in overseeing students during labs, lunchroom, playground, and field trips. Contact parents of absent students and make home visits as necessary. Assure the health and safety of students by following approved practices and regulations. Participate in instructional team meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
