WES Special Education MSD Paraprofessional Teaching Assistant/Instructional Assistant 2026-2027 School Year

Tutor individuals or small groups of students while reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by a teacher. Prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, and assist in determining English proficiency for identified students. Monitor and report student behavior and progress, check lab work, and oversee students during activities including lunchroom, playground, emergency drills, and field trips. Perform routine clerical duties such as preparing instructional materials, operating copy machines, and maintaining attendance records. Provide emotional support, proper examples, and general guidance to students while ensuring their health and safety. Confer with teachers regarding programs and materials, contact parents of absent students, and participate in instructional team meetings and in-service training.
