Wellness & Sports Manager

Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of the Wellness center, Resort Pool, and Sports programming, managing full-time staff, vendors, and independent contractors while enforcing guest policies and maintaining facility safety. Lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for the team, actively teach group fitness classes, and deliver personal training services as required. Develop and execute programming strategies that drive member engagement and retention, monitor participation trends, and adjust offerings based on feedback. Manage budgets, inventory, and marketing communications to optimize revenue and facility attendance. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, maintain accurate records in JONAS/Mindbody, and troubleshoot technology issues. Be visibly present during peak hours to engage members and provide outstanding hospitality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized and accredited organization (e.g., ACSM, NASM, NSCA, etc.)
- Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid
- 2-3 years of experience and/or the equivalent in experience and training in a private, member-owned club/space
- 2-3 years of experience leading a team
- CPR and First Aid Certifications are required, or a willingness to become certified within the first 90 days
- Must possess strong leadership, management, and motivational skills, with the ability to interact with associates at all levels within and outside the company
- Must have a thorough knowledge of numerous spa modalities, possess a general understanding of body treatments, fitness, and group fitness programming, and be willing to train in our specific service offerings
- Must be able to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 30 lbs. frequently
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 30 lbs. frequently
- Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as Fitness and/or Wellness Manager or Head Teaching Professional
- College Education - Bachelor's degree
