Job Summary
Wellness Specialist in Bridgeway’s Community Support Services team in Fords, NJ, contributing to a recovery-oriented environment and delivering resource and skill development, direct support, and crisis intervention for individuals with serious mental illness. Responsibilities include developing and updating individualized rehabilitation plans (IRP) and conducting ongoing assessments, coordinating services with the multidisciplinary team, providing counseling and mental health education, delivering evidence-based practices (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, WRAP), supporting community integration, and maintaining health-literacy-focused documentation. The role requires collaboration, on-call coverage rotating with the team, and expert use of wellness strategies to promote recovery outcomes, with duties performed under supervision of licensed clinicians and in accordance with CSS regulations. Educational requirements include an associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in helping professions, plus relevant professional experience and licensure/certification as specified. The position is at Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services, with salary between $44,000 and $45,000 per year, and regular hours Tuesday–Saturday, 9am–5pm (one day 10am–6pm).
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in social work, human services, counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, psychology, or criminal justice from an accredited college or university with minimum two years of experience in a community-based behavioral healthcare setting
- Certification as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner may be substituted for one year of experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in one of the helping professions (social work, human services, counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, psychology, criminal justice)
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in one of the helping professions (social work, human services, counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, psychology, or criminal justice)
- Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree only in a field other than a helping profession will have a minimum of two years of professional experience in a community behavioral health care setting
- Certification as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner may be substituted for one year of experience
- Driver’s License with no more than one moving violation in past 12 months
