Job Summary
Maintain an active presence on the wellness floor to welcome members, answer questions, and guide equipment use while identifying individual needs for personal training, physical therapy, and other programs. Build relationships through consultative conversations to promote service enrollment, coordinate workshops and clinics, and facilitate referrals to licensed providers. Partner with Membership and branch teams to integrate new members into orientations and assessments, then track all interactions, leads, and follow-up activities in approved systems. Ensure facility safety by monitoring equipment readiness and communicating concerns promptly. Support branch fundraising for the Annual Support Campaign and collaborate across departments to enhance the member experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to move throughout the YMCA facility and remain actively engaged on the wellness floor for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate basic equipment use within the scope of training and qualifications
- Ability to safely move light fitness equipment
- Ability to use computers, tablets, phones and standard reporting systems
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings or weekends based on member and branch needs
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in fitness, wellness, recreation, healthcare, hospitality, sales or a related field
- Experience in fitness, wellness, customer service, membership, hospitality, sales or community engagement
- Knowledge of personal training, wellness programming and physical therapy services
- Nationally recognized personal-training, group-exercise, wellness-coaching or related credential
