Job Summary

Develop and implement comprehensive wellness programs integrating therapy, nursing, and life enrichment principles to promote resident independence and engagement. Provide restorative interventions under licensed direction, assisting with mobility, gait training, and activities of daily living while monitoring functional status and reporting changes promptly. Support nursing staff with feeding, toileting rounds, and positioning during high-volume periods, and conduct community engagement activities including campus events, outings, and multisensory room sessions. Deliver educational presentations on health topics, facilitate dementia support groups, and gather resident life stories to personalize care. Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, coordinate services with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of medical-related experience in a long-term care, senior living, rehabilitation, or hospital setting, preferably in a Rehabilitation Technician or similar role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with older adults, including individuals living with dementia.
  • Ability to obtain required dementia-related training/certification, including Montessori and Snoezelen training, as required by King's Grant.
  • Ability to obtain required CPR Instructor certification through the American Heart Association/SOVAH training program, with training provided by King's Grant as applicable.

Desired Qualifications

  • Current CNA certification in addition to required rehabilitation experience.
  • Experience working in long-term care, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, or senior living.
  • Knowledge of restorative nursing principles and practices.
  • Understanding of the restorative care philosophy and approaches that promote resident independence.
  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia.
  • Experience leading wellness, fitness, rehabilitation, or resident engagement programs.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with group education, public speaking, or community wellness programming.
