Job Summary
Wellness Program Manager responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing culturally grounded wellness programs for the Katzie First Nation community. Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of holistic wellness initiatives (physical activity, land-based programming, mental health, emotional supports, healthy living, and traditional healing practices) while aligning with community priorities and organizational goals. Provide leadership and supervision to the Wellness Program Support Worker and contractors, establish annual workplans, manage budgets and resources, and ensure ongoing program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to funders and leadership. Foster strong relationships with community leadership, partners, and stakeholders; coordinate referrals to health, social, and wellness supports; plan activities for the Katzie Men’s and Women’s Groups; and advocate for wellness initiatives at organizational and external levels. Candidates should have post-secondary education in relevant fields, demonstrated health/wellness program-management experience (preferably in First Nations communities), strong leadership and budgeting skills, partnership-building experience, effective communication across diverse groups, and proficiency with program-management tools. The role requires flexible hours as needed for events and a willingness to work in-person in Pitt Meadows, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Health Services Administration, Indigenous Community Development, Program Management or a related field
- demonstrated experience in health or wellness program management
- experience within First Nations communities or organizations
- strong leadership skills with staff supervision and mentorship
- budget management and reporting
- partnership development with community leadership, funders, and external organizations
- effective communication with diverse groups
- ability to advocate for wellness initiatives and resources
- high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and program-management systems
- criminal background check (vulnerable sector)
- Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract
