Job Summary

Manage the community by supervising Resident Care Associates, monitoring resident health needs, and covering staffing gaps as directed. Evaluate resident issues and medical concerns, discuss them with the ED, family, and MD, and follow up on family matters. Administer medications including topical, oral, injectables, and drops where permitted by regulation. Promote community occupancy by engaging potential residents and families, while ensuring compliance with infection control and state reporting requirements. Assist the Resident Care Director with documentation, service plan revisions, and incident report reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Active member of the Resident Care Team
  • Assist the Resident Care Director with the management of the community
  • Direct supervision of Resident Care Associates
  • Monitoring emerging health needs of residents
  • Covering for resident care staffing as needed
  • Assisting the Resident Care Director with on-call duties
  • Following up on family issues as directed by Resident Care Director
  • Active role in growing community occupancy
  • Representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals
  • Evaluation of resident needs
  • Development and revision of service plans as per state regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of patho-physiological and psychosocial changes that is associated with the aging process and disabilities
  • Effective communication in English both orally and in writing
  • High school diploma
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
  • At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting
  • Previous health experience in hospital and/or community setting
  • Current RN or LPN License in the state you are employed
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs.
  • Must be able to carry objects
  • Must be able to push and pull carts
  • Must be able to continuously walk, sit and stand
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate
  • Must use good body mechanics
  • Must project a positive attitude towards the service provided
  • Must be able to administer topical and oral medications as well as ear and eye drops (LMA in Massachusetts)
  • Must be able to administer injectables where allowed by regulation
