Job Summary
Coordinate incidental medical, dental, vision, hearing, and podiatry care for residents while administering medications and performing treatments as ordered by physicians. Communicate with community healthcare professionals, discharge planners, and state agencies regarding resident care needs, and conduct staff interviews to monitor physical and emotional health changes. Perform nursing duties under the Nurse Practice Act, assist with resident assessments, and complete thorough chart documentation according to company policy and state regulations. Review and monitor staff shift reports, participate in change of shift meetings, and oversee central medication storage and delivery. Work Sunday through Thursday shifts to provide consistent licensed medical coverage seven days a week at The Ivy at Berkeley senior living community.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse holding a valid California nursing license in good standing
- Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
- Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
- Must be able to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines
- Must be available for Sunday - Thursday shifts
- Must be able to work seven (7) days a week to provide consistent coverage
- Must be able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including fax machine, copier, telephone, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
