Job Summary
Conduct regular health, functional, and psychosocial assessments for residents to evaluate their status and maximize their opportunity to remain in the assisted living environment. Initiate individualized service plans, manage medication schedules, and audit medication records and narcotic counts twice weekly. Coordinate additional health services, maintain resident health care files, and ensure infection control guidelines are met. Provide direct supervision of caregiving, assist with personal care tasks such as bathing and feeding, and perform on-call duties for staffing and emergency coverage. Maintain ongoing communication with residents, families, and physicians regarding medical needs.
Required Qualifications
- Current Nursing License issued by appropriate state licensing agency
- First Aid certificate
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with the elderly in an assisted living, skilled nursing or hospital environment
- Basic typing skills
- Working knowledge of personal computing and word processing software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral direction
- Good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of resident's change in condition
