Job Summary
Lead strategic and operational management of YESS' Wellness department, overseeing Youth Recovery, Counselling, Diversion & Outreach, Transition & Follow-Up, and Medical Support services. Supervise a multidisciplinary team including Wellness Counsellors, Outreach Liaisons, and Transition Support Liaisons, ensuring trauma-informed, youth-centered service delivery across the continuum of care. Coordinate the medical support program by recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling volunteer physicians while managing clinic logistics, supplies, and health service access. Monitor service quality, outcomes, and data to identify gaps and implement improvements, ensuring clear pathways from stabilization to wellness and long-term recovery. Maintain partnerships with schools, community agencies, and health providers to expand youth access to care and support.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Counselling, Public Health, Human Services, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in youth services, wellness programming, outreach, case management, or program coordination
- Experience supervising staff and supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of youth homelessness, trauma, mental health, addictions, harm reduction, recovery, and community resources
- Experience using case management or database systems such as ETO
- Experience with data collection, outcome tracking, reporting, and program evaluation
- Registration with CYCAA, or eligibility to register
- Direct experience in trauma-informed care
- Direct experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and debriefing
- Direct experience in safety planning and risk assessment
- Direct experience in motivational interviewing
- Direct experience in coaching
- Direct experience in one-to-one support and short-session counselling
- Direct experience in facilitating groups, workshops, or therapeutic/recreational programming
- Direct experience in working within a multidisciplinary nonprofit environment
- Motivational Interviewing
- Mental Health First Aid, ASIST or equivalent suicide intervention training
- NVCI or TCI training
- Trauma-informed care training
- Valid Alberta driver's license, clean driver's abstract, and proof of vehicle insurance
- Clear police clearance (PIC) and a Child Intervention (CIRC) check, both obtained within the last six months
