Job Summary
Supervise HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff while conducting daily rounds of assisted living and retirement residents. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, observe resident symptoms, and report conditions to the Director of Wellness. Provide guidance to nursing assistants, ensure accurate documentation of vital signs and medications, and maintain cleanliness of the nurse's station and medication room. Order pharmacy supplies as needed and assist in staff orientation and admission/discharge evaluations. Perform emergency first aid and uphold quality care standards throughout the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Currently licensed to practice per state
- Work experience in the geriatric field
- Ability to communicate well and in writing
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60lbs
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure at times
- Good grooming practices, personal hygiene, punctuality, and regular attendance
- Warm, friendly, congenial personality
- Professional appearance
- Empathetic attitude towards seniors
- Ability to assess a resident's condition and intervene when needed
- CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter
- Must be able to work under pressure at times
- Must present a professional appearance
