Wellness Coordinator- Choice Store

Job Summary

Coordinate My Choice Store operations, including creating monthly calendars for shopping days, placing orders with Replenish and the Community Food Bank of NJ, and managing food stock for distribution. Plan and execute health and wellness workshops, cooking demonstrations, and community partnerships focused on increasing food security. Serve as a liaison for external organizations providing educational programming and collaborate with medical providers and social workers to deliver a continuum of wellness services. Manage data entry and reporting in EmpowOR, register participants, and maintain confidential case documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Create marketing materials for public events and ensure proper food preparation and storage. Work a 35-hour week with company-paid medical coverage and dental benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in social work, public health, nutrition, community development and/or a similar field
  • At least three (2) years' experience in social service
  • Experience in work related with the delivery of family assistance, case management and/or customer service
  • Specific focus or passion on wellness and healthy living
  • If the candidate does not possess an associate's degree, they must have 4 years' experience
  • Knowledge of or experience with healthy eating, cooking nutritious meals and incorporating movement in daily living
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry boxes or bags of food that can weight up to 25 lbs
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in assessing and documenting needs for participants experiencing emergencies
  • Compassionate, well-organized, and have good facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to acclimate easily to policy changes and responsibilities
  • Take initiative and be able to work in a team setting and independently
  • Culturally sensitive considering our responsibility as a Community Action Agency to commit ourselves to the health and well-being of all, and to address systems and structures to dismantle disparities and inequities

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference to candidates fully fluent in Spanish and/or Asian-Indian languages
  • Strong knowledge of the cultural dynamics of Middlesex County's diverse population
  • Solid familiarity of the social service network in Middlesex County
