Job Summary
Ensure equipment and cleaning checklists are completed during shifts and conduct required facility rounds checking all wellness areas. Implement wellness policies and procedures while assisting leadership with wellness events as needed. Support member recruitment and retention by promoting wellness programs during interactions with existing and potential members. Enforce YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by assessing member needs and providing options to enhance retention. Obtain required YUSA trainings and CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age or older
- Obtain required YUSA trainings within 90 days
- CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire
- Attention to detail, with a consistently high level of responsiveness and follow-up
- Must have the ability and patience to instruct classes while using effective communication and human relations skills to handle situations with people of all socioeconomic levels
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
- Ability to constantly and quickly move to various locations in and around the entire facility
- Be able to lift 25 pounds or more
- Physically perform all CPR and First Aid skills and/or assist as needed in emergency situations
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Bend or stoop to reach various height levels
