Job Summary
Provide safe and effective Wellness Coaching sessions, instructing clients on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and modifications. Develop personalized exercise plans based on client needs and goals while teaching them to appreciate physical, emotional, and social health. Track and maintain accurate records of sessions, ensure clients pay for services, and help them achieve their fitness objectives. Maintain current certifications including First Aid, CPR, and AED, and comply with all safety rules and administrative policies. Represent the St. Charles Park District positively to patrons and employees, assisting in promotional activities and facility events.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current Personal Training certification or similar wellness-based nationally accredited certification (ex. ACE, NASM, ACSM, etc)
- Good health and appearance
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of proper exercise techniques and equipment usage
- Ability to effectively educate and demonstrate to members these techniques and usage
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Evidence of continuing education courses directly related to the field
- Mandated Reporter certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or obtain certification within 30 days of hire)
- Maintain current certifications
Desired Qualifications
- College degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology
- Work experience in a fitness related field
- Previous personal training experience
- Previous group fitness instruction experience
