Job Summary
Conduct age-appropriate, culturally responsive behavioral health support for children, youth, and families in school-based and community settings. Teach practical wellness skills including coping strategies, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and redirection techniques. Lead individual check-ins, small groups, and classroom wellness activities while assisting with screenings, referrals, and care coordination. Communicate with staff, families, and providers to ensure continuity of care and follow crisis protocols to connect youth to licensed professionals. Travel between Foothill Family sites for training and meetings across Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. Maintain reliable attendance and ensure safe, empathetic engagement with minors in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CA Driver's License and maintains insurability on the Agency's auto liability policy (including a minimum of 2 years driving experience) and maintains the California state required auto insurance liability limits
- maintains reliable transportation to attend all appointments and meetings as required in the position
Desired Qualifications
- BA/BS in Social Science preferred
- Ability to be an excellent representative of the Agency to the community
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively as a team member
- Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences
- Knowledge of childhood development, public school systems, and community resources
- Must not appear on any federal, state, or other applicable sanctions, exclusion, or debarment lists that would prohibit or restrict employment with an agency receiving federal or state health care funding
- Bilingual Spanish, Cantonese/Mandarin, Vietnamese, or other language, as determined by program need, preferred
